Alpenglow School

Alpenglow Students to Scale New Heights on Yamnuska Spring Hike

On June 6, 2024, students from Alpenglow’s Grade 4/5/6 classes will embark on an inspiring hiking journey to conquer the trails of Yamnuska. Under the experienced guidance of teachers, these young adventurers are set to explore the breathtaking landscapes and rich biodiversity of one of Alberta’s most iconic natural landmarks. This annual hike not only challenges their physical abilities but also enhances their appreciation for the natural world, fostering a deeper connection with the environment and each other. Springfest Alpenglow

Alpenglow Community Education Society and Alpenglow School will host its annual Springfest Alpenglow on June 7, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. Open to the public, this event epitomizes the spirit of community and the joys of spring. Families will gather at the Alpenglow play space to enjoy a communal BBQ and the beauty of the Alpenglow backyard. A standout feature of the afternoon will be Maypole dancing, performed by Division II students, showcasing their skills in this traditional dance. Banff Community High School

Banff Community High's End of the Year Assembly and Awards

Banff Community High School (BCHS) invites students, families, and the community to its third and final awards assembly of the year, June 14 at 10:30 a.m. in the school gym. This special event celebrates the achievements of the school’s rugby, badminton, and track and field athletes and offers the opportunity to extend its gratitude to the dedicated community coaches who have contributed immensely to the sports programs. The assembly will be bittersweet as BCHS bids farewell to its graduating Gr. 12 students and honours Principal Chris Rogers, as he steps into retirement. A New Chapter Begins - Banff Community High School’s Graduation Gala

Witness the culmination of dedication and dreams at Banff Community High School's Class of 2024 Graduation. To be held in the picturesque setting of the Banff Springs Hotel’s Garden Terrace on June 28 at 11 a.m., this ceremonial gathering will not only spotlight the students’ remarkable achievements through awards and recognitions but will also feature heartfelt farewells and inspiring words from the Valedictorian and the beloved, retiring Principal, Chris Rogers. Join BCHS in this joyous celebration as it celebrates the 2024 graduates stepping into their bright futures. Friends, families, and the entire Banff community are invited to share in the festivities and reflections of this momentous day. A group photo is planned. BES Musical Showcase Returns with Student Talent

Banff Elementary School (BES) invites the community to the second annual BES Musical Showcase, a celebration of student talent in singing, dancing, and instrument playing. Initiated by former student Fergus MacIntosh, who, along with friends and staff, turned his dream into reality, this event promises an afternoon of captivating performances. Scheduled for June 13 from 1-3 p.m. in the BES gym, the showcase highlights the creative spirit and hard work of Banff Elementary students. Banff Elementary Grade 8 Farewell - A Celebration for the Entire Family

Banff Elementary School (BES) will bid farewell to their Gr. 8 students with a heartfelt assembly on June 27 from 1-3 p.m. The event will feature the unveiling of a unique 'legacy' textile project where students have felted their cherished memories. Continuing a beloved tradition, students will also leave their mark by dipping their thumbs into paint and adding their prints to the BES Gr. 8 canvases, a passion project from last year. The celebration includes cake, refreshments, and a dance, with a BES' Gr. 8 student as the DJ! This is a memorable event for the entire school community. Contact the BES Team for more information. 

Canmore Collegiate High School

Canmore Collegiate High School Graduation Banquet

The Canmore Collegiate Student/Parent Graduation Banquet Committee is excited to host the 2024 Graduation Banquet on June 26, 2024, at the prestigious Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. Canmore Collegiate High School students and their families will gather to commemorate this milestone event, rounding out their final year with an evening of elegance and joy. Students should arrive by 4:30 p.m. for a group photo at 5 p.m. This ticketed event promises a memorable night for everyone involved! Celebrating Canmore Collegiate's Graduating Class

Canmore Collegiate High School’s gymnasium will be filled with pride and excitement as the community gathers to celebrate the 2024 graduating class! Scheduled for June 27, at 11 a.m., this special commencement ceremony is an opportunity to honour the hard work and achievements of these students as they prepare for their next steps in life. The event will feature inspiring speeches from local dignitaries, the Board of Trustees, and the division’s respected Indigenous Knowledge Keepers. Retiring Principal Chris Rogers will also give a heartfelt farewell address. The ceremony will conclude with food for all guests and a memorable group photo of the graduates. Families, friends, former students, and staff are all invited to join in celebrating this significant milestone. Students should arrive by 10:15 a.m. to prepare for the ceremony. Exshaw School

Exshaw School's Enchanted Grade 8 Farewell

Exshaw School will host an evening of celebration and memories at the Grade 8 Farewell on June 26 at 6:30 p.m. Families, staff, and students are invited to bid adieu to the graduating Gr. 8 class as they embark on their high school journey. The night will feature a heartfelt ceremony, a delicious dinner, and a fun-filled photo booth. Guests can capture the magic with photos in Exshaw’s beautifully adorned tipi. Exshaw National Indigenous People's Day Celebration

Exshaw School invites all staff, students, families, and volunteers to join in celebrating National Indigenous People's Day on June 21, 2024. The event features a Mini-Pow Wow with Knowledge Keepers, dancers, and drummers, led by M.C. Eli Snow. Following the morning celebrations, attendees can enjoy traditional stew and bannock. In the afternoon, Spirit North will host special activities. The event gets underway at 10:30 a.m. at the Exshaw School Field, by the tipi, weather permitting, or in the gymnasium. Lawrence Grassi Middle School

LGMS Recognizes National Indigenous Peoples' Day

On June 17, 2024, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Lawrence Grassi Middle School (LGMS) will honor National Indigenous Peoples' Day. Students and staff will join in a meaningful celebration featuring Knowledge Keepers and a Stoney Drumming Group. This event aims to deepen understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures and traditions. Through stories, music, and shared experiences, participants will gain valuable insights into the rich heritage and contributions of Indigenous peoples. Celebrating Grade 8 Achievements at LGMS

On June 20, 2024, Lawrence Grassi Middle School (LGMS) will host a special ceremony to honour its Gr. 8 students as they move onto high school. From 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., students and their families will gather to recognize the achievements and milestones of the Gr. 8 class. The celebration will continue with a BBQ and outdoor games from 6:15 to 8 p.m., offering a joyful and engaging environment for everyone to enjoy.
