Banff Community High School & Canmore Collegiate High School
Hands-On Career Exploration for Grade 9 Students
Running Jan. 20 to 24, 2025, Canadian Rockies Public Schools’ (CRPS) Career Exploration Program, offers Grade 9 students attending Banff Community High School and Canmore Collegiate High School immersive workplace experiences. Through partnerships with Bow Valley businesses, government, and non-profits, students will participate in job shadowing, workplace observations, and mentorships tailored to their interests. Students will show-up at job sites prepared with workplace safety training. Placements last up to five days and are supervised by CRPS teachers and employer representatives. Chiseling Creativity in Snow
Grade 7 students at Banff Elementary School are teaming up with a professional snow carver during Banff Snow Days to create their own masterpiece. From concept to carving, students will shape their designs into snow sculptures that will be on display for the public to admire. This hands-on experience combines artistic expression and winter fun, showcasing student creativity and community collaboration. Witness the transformation live on Jan. 20, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., in Banff Central Park. A must-see highlight of Snow Days that celebrates local talent and the art of snow carving. Unlocking the Joy of Reading
Banff Elementary School is sparking a love of literacy with a week-long celebration from Jan. 27 to 31, 2025. Students will engage in exciting activities highlighting the importance of reading and storytelling, culminating in Family Literacy Day on Jan. 27. This enriching week aims to strengthen connections between students, families, and the wider community through the power of words. The school will be buzzing during school hours with activities designed to inspire curiosity and creativity. Sharpening Exam Skills Together
Canmore Collegiate High School’s monthly micro session returns Jan. 9, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. with "Study Skills and Exam Preparation." Led by CCHS Learning Support Teachers, this virtual session offers practical tips on study strategies, time management, and reducing exam stress. Families and students are encouraged to attend together to ensure aligned expectations. Hockey Day Brings NHL Legends to LGMS
Lawrence Grassi Middle School (LGMS) is thrilled to welcome Hockey Day in Canada to a special assembly on Jan. 17, 2025. Students from LGMS and Exshaw School will gather in the gym from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. to meet SportsNet personalities and NHL alumni.
