Celebrate Community at Alpenglow Winterfest

Alpenglow’s Winterfest will be held Dec. 7 at Canmore Collegiate High School, promising festive fun and meaningful connections. Running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m, the event will feature the Grade 5/6 class selling unique handmade gifts they created in class, raising funds for the Grade 6 Legacy Project. From holiday shopping to celebrating community, the Winterfest is an opportunity to engage with local creativity and purpose. Alpenglow Winter Concert will showcase the creative talents of students at the CCHS Theatre on Dec. 19, with doors opening at 5:45 p.m. and the production beginning at 6 p.m. Each class will present highlights of their fall work in a vibrant celebration of learning. This event reflects the dedication of students, staff, and families who have collaborated to create a memorable evening of music and performance. Banff Community High School

Discover BCHS at its Open House & Craft Fair

Banff Community High School’s Open House and Craft Fair will light up the school’s Purkis Hall on Dec. 3 from 6 – 7 p.m. Parents can explore subject-area displays, showcasing student work and classroom activities while connecting with teachers. The Craft Fair features handmade items by Fashion Studies, Foods, Construction, and Art students, with proceeds supporting Banff Food Rescue. Adding to the excitement, the Sr. Boys Basketball team will play in the gym, making this a night of learning, creativity, and community. Holiday Harmonies at the Banff Centre

Banff Community High School’s band will perform at the Banff Centre in December, celebrating the festive season with school and community groups. The concerts take place on Dec. 11 and 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Jenny Belzberg Theatre. Harmony in the Rockies
Banff Elementary School is bringing festive cheer to the Banff Centre with its Gr. 1 - 8 Winter Concert on Dec. 11 and 12, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will feature class performances, BES’ Gr. 7 and 8 Bands, and the Banff Community High School’s Band. Families and the community will enjoy an evening of music celebrating student creativity and collaboration. This much-anticipated annual concert highlights the exceptional talent of Banff’s young musicians and fosters connections among students, parents, and staff. Giving Back to BES Families This Holiday Season

Banff Elementary School is rallying to support families in need with its “Give What You Can, If You Can” fundraiser. A bake sale on Nov. 26 kicked off the efforts, with proceeds going toward grocery cards, toys, and holiday essentials. The community’s generosity will be celebrated during BES’ Winter Assembly on Dec. 17, from 1:30 – 2:15 p.m., where students and staff will highlight fundraising milestones with fun-filled activities. Contributions of non-perishables, monetary donations, and games are welcomed to ensure every family experiences the joy of the season. Canmore Collegiate High School

Canmore Collegiate Takes the Stage with “Matilda Jr.”

Canmore Collegiate High School invites the community to experience the magic of Roald Dahl’s "Matilda Jr.", a 60-minute musical adaptation of the beloved book and Broadway hit. Performances run Dec. 12, 13, and 14 at 7 p.m., with a special matinee on Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. Directed by Sabrina Grecu, Jodi Anderson, and Heather Jean Jordan, a talented cast and crew of 37 students bring this enchanting story to life. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased online or at the door, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. for evening shows and 12:30 p.m. for the matinee. Exploring Careers in Grade 9 and Beyond

CCHS’ next parent Micro-session will be held Dec. 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Parents of Grades 9-12 students are encouraged to attend to learn about the Gr. 9 Career Exploration Experience, Work Experience, and the Registered Apprenticeship Program.
