CRPS' Board of Trustees' Oct. 22 meeting reaffirmed the division’s commitment to student success by approving key projects and updates. As presented in the Oct. 22 "The Brief," CRPS' Debbie McKibbin, Steve Greene, Mike Shoemaker, Hans Holthuis, Annabel Preece, Jody Keon, and Kelly Proudfoot shared insights from the Canadian Assessment for Learning Network conference, emphasizing the reaffirmation of current assessment practices that align with real-world learning and the use of innovative tools, such as artificial intelligence. The board also celebrated securing Dual Credit Grants to enhance culinary arts education at Banff Community High School. Additionally, the board approved the construction of a multi-purpose room at Canmore Collegiate High School to support growing student needs, particularly for lunch space during the expanded cafeteria program. Policy updates were also approved to refine board governance, including the evaluation of the Superintendent’s performance and streamlining expense submissions. These efforts reflect the board’s dedication to enhancing education, student well-being, and operational transparency across the division.
