The Brief - Highlights of the Board of Trustees June 19, 2024, Meeting

As presented in “The Brief”, at the June 19 Board Meeting, Canadian Rockies Public Schools (CRPS) Board Vice-Chair, Brian Callaghan, was recognized for receiving the PSBAA 2024 Advancing Association Business and Initiatives Award for his dedication to inclusive public education. The Board also discussed the Alberta Government recent announcement it plans to introduce a new policy in September that will limit mobile device use in schools to tackle cyberbullying and distractions. Trustees further approved covering Alberta School Councils’ Association’s membership fees for all CRPS school councils, enhancing their effectiveness with professional development, resources, and advocacy. CRPS’ Central Board Office, too, were approved, and will see summer hours from July 1 to August 19, opening Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and closing on Fridays.
