Canadian Rockies Public Schools (CRPS) is excited to share its draft goals, priorities, and outcomes for the 2025–2029 Four-Year Education Plan. This plan is more than a document - it’s a promise to keep improving, listening, and growing together as a community. CRPS believes that by working together, we can create the best possible learning environment for every student.

CRPS’ Four-Year Plan Engagement Process began in Fall 2024 and will continue until February 2025. Over 14 months, CRPS has and will continue to ask for input from parents, staff, community members, businesses, and students to shape this plan. Every voice matters, whether it’s the ideas of a Grade 2 student or the feedback of a community leader. CRPS is listening closely to everyone to ensure the new plan reflects the needs and dreams of its entire community.

In past conversations, parents said they are happy with their involvement in their child’s education but sometimes struggle to stay connected due to daily demands. They value communication with teachers but see room for improvement. Student leadership teams shared that they want more choice, engaging lessons, helpful feedback on their progress, and safe, well-run classrooms with high expectations. The Community Education Network (CEN) highlighted the importance of CRPS equipping students with future-ready skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy, to prepare them for success in an evolving world. Additionally, the community highlighted the importance of providing safe, inclusive learning environments characterized with personalized learning approaches that empower students to pursue their interests. They also noted the need for CRPS to improve how it communicates its successes and ongoing efforts.

Behind the scenes, CRPS’ Board of Trustees and Education Leadership Team has been hard at work, listening to this feedback and creating strong, meaningful foundation statements for the next plan. Now, CRPS is ready to hear from you.

Parents, staff, and community members are invited to complete a short five-minute survey to share their thoughts on the draft plan’s goals, priorities and outcome statements. Feedback will remain confidential and will play an important role in shaping the future of CRPS. The survey closes on Dec. 17, 2024.
