Kindergarten Registration & Open Houses

Opening the Door to a World of Learning, Play, and Exploration!

Registering for Kindergarten marks an exciting milestone in you and your child’s life. Not only does this mark your child’s formal entry to school, but it opens the door to a world of learning, play and exploration.

Kindergarten provides children with important life skills and opportunities to be successful in all developmental areas, setting a strong foundation for their educational journey. It also allows children to become confident learners in a safe and supported environment, providing a framework of belonging, being and becoming.

At Canadian Rockies Public Schools (CRPS), Kindergarten students’ days are balanced with play, exploration, and focused learning time. Outdoor play-based learning serves as an important basis for our programming, encouraging students to interact with their natural surroundings to bolster curriculum-based learning. We also put a sharp focus on literacy and numeracy, helping children prepare for their elementary years.

Online registration for 2025/26 Kindergarten programs opens on Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.

We offer full-day and half-day Kindergarten programs at all of our elementary schools. French Immersion is offered on a full-day or half-day basis at Elizabeth Rummel School in Canmore. We also offer a full-day nature immersion, Waldorf-inspired Kindergarten program at Alpenglow School in Canmore.

All registration must be completed online. For assistance please reference our School Registration Guide. Before you begin, please ensure you have the required documentation on hand.
